She came to live with me 11 years ago (March 21) at 4 months of age. She joined Dallas in the house and very soon she ran the house! She ruled the roost and everyone here knew who was boss. When Gabriel came home he quickly learned that Grace was to be respected and often times stayed away from!! She actually left a lasting impresison on him in the form of 3 stitches. She was a high energy ball of fur. She loved to swim and to retrieve and if there was a tennis ball nearby you could be guarnteed your arm would be tired long before Grace would be. She was bred to hunt and would have made a great hunting dog, however lucky for me she was afraid of the sound of gunfire and the breeder decided to sell her. She never lost her desire to please and even today when her legs were weak she tried her best to hop into the car. She had a rough start in life and always had a wariness of strangers. However once you gained her trust you had a friend for life. I consider myself lucky to have gained her trust. My house tonight seems a lot quieter without my girl, but I know she is in a better place and I know she will remain in my heart forever. The tears and sadness will subside in time but my love for her will remain strong and true, just as her companionship was for the 11 years she belonged to me. She is reunited with all of her friends at the Rainbow Bridge and I know she is happily chasing tennis balls and swimming in lakes of blue. Good bye Grace.
