Alaska had 15 great years of good health and good friends surrounded by humans who loved him. He never hurt a living soul...as long as you don't count that gray cat when we lived on the West End. Oh yeah, there was that baby rabbit when he lived by Lake Norman. Well, he never hurt any *people*. He was mellow, forgiving, funny, loyal as all get-out and just plain cool.
And he was simply, and yet profoundly, a member of our family.

Personal Notes

Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Daniel Edge, our dear friend and wonderful veterinarian. He made a housecall that we can never repay him for.
We love you Daniel.

We all loved Alaska very much, and Bella will always have a special place in her heart for him. We will miss him, but are glad to have had the chance to know such a noble gentleman. You're in our hearts. With love, the Sullivans

I will miss Alaska.
He was a good friend to Dottie, who did not be friend many dogs. Both Dottie and Alaska had the endearing habit of smiling at you. We miss that now that Dottie is gone too.
Alaska was always happy to see me, and gentle with my young daughters and will be missed!!!

I've known Alaska most of his life. We got off to a rocky start, but I know he was just being protective. Over the years he was good to me, good to his family and good to all who knew him. I will miss him, but will make an effort to befriend his other pets at the Renegar house. It's an end of an era. To be read in "dog voice", "That's a good doggie. Yes he is. Yes he is. Ooooh, let me give you a scratch on your ears."

Dear Bobby, Tabatha, Harrison, Beau,

We are so sorry about Alaska. We know how close you all were to him. It is so hard to lose your precious four-legged friends. It won't be the same walking by your house without seeing him. Our hearts are with you during this very sad time. Alaska had a great life and I know he was a very happy dog during his earthly life.

Sincerely,
Kevin, Laurie, Amanda, Danny and Jack and Max

Only a dog can teach us the meaning of true, unconditional love. Well done Alaska, well done.

Oh, Alaska. I only wish I'd known you when you were a youngster. You bewildered me and my academic assessments of behavior with your antics, all the while impressing me with your spunk and determinedness even as your body was beginning to fail you. You were so good to share your yard some times with Pavlov. You will be sorely missed.

Alaska was such a wonderful dog with many funny and touching stories to be told. It was an honor to be able to help him cross that bridge into a better world. Cheers to Alaska's memory and hugs to those he left behind.
