To our friend, our confidant, our daughter; you touched our lives with your warm heart and compassion. You were always by our sides when we needed a friend. Loyal in everything you did.

The nights will never be the same without you there cuddling with us, sometimes pushing us off the bed, but always being near us. Your long motor like purrs will be music to our ears for years to come.

Although the diabetes, bladder stones, asthma, and arthritis took you from us today, they will never erase the fond loving memories we have of our many years together. Today, your pain has ended. Your job here now complete, go and enjoy your Rainbow Bridge. We will see you again in a place where there is no pain, no suffering, just endless joy and happiness.

Please feel free to contribute some of your thoughts and memories of our dear daughter, FLAKEY!

Personal Notes

I only met Flakey once, so I don't have much to share about her except that I know she loved to be petted. I do know how much a pet can mean. I remember when my childhood cat, Puss, was in her last days. She had suffered a stroke and could barely stand or walk. I was away at school at the time. (continued below)

(continued from previous) She hung on for 6 days until I returned home from school. She managed to get up, stumble across the floor to me, and rub up against my leg. I petted her for about two hours as she lay on my lap. She died an hour later. It's like she knew I was coming home, and she needed to be with me one last time. I needed it, too.

While not being a real "cat person" Flakey used her charm and demeanor to work her way into my heart. Many a day I shared office wiht Flakey and several times she reminded me I was the vistor and she was the Queen. I am saddened by her journey, but am glad Flakey did not have to endure pain. Thanks for all the laughs, looks, and love.

I was luckey enough to spend a couple of hours with Flakey last Thursday morning. Jennifer was concerned that she might be a bit lonely and wasn't feeling well because of her arthritis pain. She was confined to her bedroom up stairs that she shared with both Jennifer and Ryan. When I arrived she was sleeping in her bed and I actually got to pet her without the fear of being verbally attached buy her famous hiissss!

I alway's got the feeling that she didn't like me addressing her as "FRAKEY" or the "FRAKEMEISTER" but she tried to be civil to me,well at least most of the time. FRAKEY, there I go again, was very lucky to have a great home with her Steele Family and I think she realized her gift. "

When we lose a pet we all know we have lost a member of our immediate family and the pain is great but we can take comfort in the fact that our lost friend had a great life and shared their love with ours." Auf Wiedersehn old FRAKEMEISTER

I hadn't seen Flakey in a long while, but I certainly enjoyed her company whenever I was at Ryan and Jennifer's home. I remember her mostly on the stairway, peeking between the bars. She was a darling cat and I wish I had known her better.
