When you find your soul dog, you know it’s hard to put into words just how much they mean to you and have impacted your life. It’s even harder to put into words the grief you feel when they move on from this life. We lost Chloe Bell on 09/14/26. She came into our lives on Christmas, which was 4 days after my 14th birthday in 2009. She’s been with me from middle school into my 30s. She’s been there for every big milestone and through all the ups and downs of life. She’s been there for all of us through celebrations, graduations, birthdays, first jobs, love, heartbreak, sad days and good days.
Even through the inconsistencies of life, she was always there and always a constant in our lives. I knew she’d be there to hear my gossip or help me solve my problems or just lay with me whether I was happy or sad. Chloe always greeted us at the door and was always stuck to our side like glue. Chloe was the smartest, most loving and happy girl no matter what. She just wanted to be loved and to love us back. Whether she knows it or not, she genuinely helped our family get through our toughest days and we don’t know where we’d be without her.
It’s hard to believe we got 17 years with our baby Chloe and we’re all so grateful for that. She loved walks, her family, sitting at the table on thanksgiving, the couch, getting visitors, cheese, popcorn, her feathered brother Buddy, the backyard, chase, tug of war, sleeping in our beds, her toys, bandanas, cupcakes, Ugg beds, her grandma, music, treats, her stroller, her collar, costumes, snuggles and just being a part of whatever we were doing. And we loved every part of her from her quirks, to her silliness to her cute little snores when she slept.
As Taylor Swift said (and Chloe knows all the words since she listened to every album with me and my mom on repeat and danced and cried in my pink bedroom to all her songs from childhood to adulthood) you are the “love of my life” and you are the “loss of my life.”
We will forever love you and we will see you again one day.
To Chloe Bell Manners, the best girl and the glue that held our family together. You are family and we will never forget you.
We love you Chloe!

Love, Marah, Mom and Scottie

Personal Notes

Chloe, you were the best Christmas/birthday present I ever received. You were the best part of my life and I am so grateful to have had you by my side for more over half of my life. I miss everything about you, but I will see you again someday. You were truly my best friend and so loved. I will love you forever and ever and my future kids will know their first sibling’s name ?? I know you had a great life, but wish you could have lived forever. I love you my baby Chloe Bell ??

She was just the most precious gift. She was Marah’s Christmas present but became everyone’s “gift” after she stole our hearts ?? 17 years ago…

Your quirks made you so adorable, Chloe Bell. We’ll miss the unique way you ate—taking a mouthful of food under the table, spitting it out, and eating it piece by piece. We’ll miss those insistent little nudges whenever we stopped petting you, and your nightly routine of digging for that special toy, whining through the house, and hiding it away. You were so sensitive; if stuffing ever popped out while you played, one "uh-oh" meant you'd shower us with love to make up for it. Nobody believed us when we said "don't bother with a treat," because you would only eat your special treats from home . We'll miss you backing up for your "yucky" checks, and how patiently you stepped backward for your diapers this past year, as if softly saying, "I'm ready.” You even let us know if we forgot your post-bath bandana. Because you hated being alone, you’d constantly push the bathroom door open to be with us, whether we were in the shower or on the toilet. We’ll miss everything about you, Chloe.
