As far as anyone knows, Fig started life as a stray who wandered into someone's home to give birth to kittens. When I met her at the APL, she was a nervous and shy little tortie with half an ear and an aching desire for affection.

She went on to want that affection her whole life, never far from my side and always eager for brushies and pets. She wanted to be in my lap, even if there was already a plate of food in it! In her last days she never left it.

She was a silly girl who drank water with one paw in the air. She loved to burrow in blankets and my dresser drawers. She talked all the time, demanding pets or to go outside, or just to say hello.

Fig's life was also troubled with one health crisis after another, and she loathed every vet visit. All she wanted was to stay home and be loved, so in her last days that is what we did.

I love you, Figgy. I miss you so much. I'm sorry it all turned out the way it did but I'm glad you were so happy and so so loved.
