It is with the heaviest heart I share that I had to say goodbye to Orion in March. I was so lucky to have 13 years with him. He was my best friend and best companion. Orion loved barking, cuddling, stealing food that wasn't his, sunbathing, going on walks, and being stubborn. Although the last few weeks have been extremely challenging for me, I look back with the fondest memories and gratitude that we ended up together so many years ago. Thanks for loving him as much as I did.

Personal Notes

One time Orion came over to my house and my dad made me bacon for breakfast and Orion snuck up under my arm and stole my bacon, he was really cute.

My favorite thing about Orion was his tenacity. He knew what he wanted and he was committed. Whether eating edibles, oreos, dark chocolate, or hunting possums he didn't stop until he got what he wanted. A 2020 BarkBox didn't stand a chance. I think we could all live our lives a lil bit more like Orion. Fearless, adoring, and loud af.

Orion was my favorite roommate. He was constantly yelling about how much he loved me. He gave the perfect snuggles. He knew how to rest better than anyone I’ve ever known. He was gentle and curious with his roommate bunny, weezy. And most of all, he adored his dad who gave him the world and then some. I choose to believe he’s somewhere warm buried under several fuzzy blankets with a big bag of treats he shouldn’t be eating and reruns of the OC playing in the background because it’s his comfort show. Thanks for the smiles and kisses, O.

We are all so lucky to have had Orion in our lives- he brought so much peace, joy, and companionship to my brother. Knowing my brother had Orion as his buddy and companion to come home to always comforted my heart. Orion- a constellation of stars that has guided humans for thousands of years, it feels fitting that Orion was Danny's constant, his compass, his constellation. Orion, you handsome boy- we will miss you

Orion you were always the easiest dog to watch when Dan was away, but not the easiest to share a bed with. Eloise loved you and Lucian tolerated you (which is saying a lot). Thank you for all the snuggles, and wet kisses, and panic attacks when you jumped from dangerous heights. You were one of a kind and we’ll miss you.

Orion was more than just a dog—he was truly my brother’s best friend. For the four years I lived in Columbus with them, I got to see firsthand how loyal, loving, and full of personality he was. He had this way of always being right there, whether it was for comfort, company, or just to make an ordinary day better. Many nights he was there to help soothe my anxiety or be the entertainment for the night. I am very lucky to have witnesses the bond between Orion and Danny, it is truly something special and something that will last forever.

Love and Miss You Orion!!

We share in the sadness and loss of our our beautiful grandpuppy Orion! We were Orion’s second home when Danny travelled around the world. He was a part of our family and became Lily’s companion. He snuggled and slept with us and we loved him so much.
Orion was the reason we also got a dachshund puppy,Lily, 12 years ago. It’s hard to explain how much these doggies almost become part of our laps. We were blessed to be a part of Orion’s life and will miss him and keep him close to our heart! ??
