Roxy Reeves~Forever In Our Hearts
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved furry family member, Roxy Reeves, a Bichon Frise and Poodle mix who brought boundless joy, love, and comfort into our lives for 10 beautiful years. Born on August 25, 2014, Roxy crossed the rainbow bridge on October 4, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of sweet memories that will forever be cherished in our hearts.
Roxy was known for her calm and gentle nature, and she filled our days with love, cuddles, and sweet affection. Her favorite activities were simple, yet brought her so much joy: sunbathing (she loved the sun), playing games with her toys, and gleefully running after us for fun. She adored going to the park, riding along on trips, and, of course, indulging in her favorite treats—especially those we cleverly hid around the house, which she would always find with excitement.
One of Roxy’s greatest joys was receiving massages, and she would melt with contentment as we pampered her. She was happiest when she was near us, never wanting to be apart from her human parents for long. Roxy was a friendly and social pup who loved meeting new people. Whenever the doorbell rang, she’d bark at first, but her excitement quickly took over as she eagerly greeted everyone with a wagging tail, always hoping for a pet and some attention.
Though she wasn’t a fan of the cute dresses, scarves, or sweaters we occasionally dressed her in, she accepted it with her sweet, patient spirit. Roxy was also a star during bath time and grooming, always remaining calm and cooperative—a reflection of her serene personality.
Roxy was much more than just a pet; she was our loyal companion, our playful and loving fur baby, and a true member of our family. She brought us joy beyond measure, and her absence leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts.
In Roxy’s final days, we noticed she wasn’t quite herself—she had been vomiting sporadically over a few days and eating less than usual, which we initially assumed was just an upset stomach. However, this behavior was so unlike her that we quickly grew concerned. On October 2, 2024, we took her to Winslow Animal Hospital, where they checked her vitals, performed an x-ray, and ran blood tests. The news was devastating. Roxy was in advanced kidney failure, and an unknown mass was found near her heart. With heavy hearts, we made the painful decision to say goodbye to her on October 4, 2024, not wanting her to suffer any further.
We did everything we could to make Roxy's last couple of days as comfortable and filled with even more love as possible, spoiling and pampering her every moment. Although it broke our hearts, we are deeply grateful for the compassionate care and support from the team at Winslow Animal Hospital during this incredibly difficult time. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who touched Roxy's life in any way. Your kindness, care, and love meant so much to us, and we truly appreciate your support during her time with us.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the many places that provided exceptional care and services for Roxy throughout her life, including medical care, grooming, and boarding. Our heartfelt thanks go to Animal Welfare Association (Surgery 1), Burl-Moor-Driben Animal Hospital, Thrive Pet Healthcare, Winslow Animal Hospital (Surgery 2), Country Pet Lodge, Lakeside Kennel and Cattery Lodge, PetSmart, Show Dog Grooming, and, of course, our supportive friends and family. Thank you for your kindness and for being a special part of Roxy’s journey!
Roxy, you are so deeply loved, and you are so greatly missed. The memories of your gentle spirit, playful games, and affectionate cuddles will stay with us forever. Rest in peace, our sweet girl. We love you endlessly and will carry your love with us always. You will always be our fury baby and now our forever sweet angel!
We love you and miss you so much!
Love Always,
