About Happy Happy was a special dog from day 1. I brought him home form the Kansas Humane society here in Wichita. He had been taken back there twice by others that did not or could not keep him. They warned me that if he came back a 3rd time that was his last strike. When he first came home, he was a mess. He would run out the front door at every opportunity and I would have to chase him down and coax him into the car to get him home again. He would not just jump the fence he would climb to the top rail of the chain link fence and like a tight rope walker go back and forth on that top rail picking his spot to go over. He was way smart being a mix between an Australian Shepard and Papillion. He had distinctive butterfly ears of a Papillion and the eyes of the Aussie. He took to being my buddy instantly and everywhere I went he had to go, or he would voice his displeasure at being left home (loudly). When he was riding in the car his favorite spot was front feet on the console and his head on my shoulder. I have had other multiple dogs but never one that had such a strong bond with. I have to say he was a once in a lifetime dog and I wish other to be so lucky to find one like him. I lost him Friday the 15th to old age and it hurts like no other loss has ever hurt. When my time is up on this earth, I hope I go to the same place my buddy is at and that I get to find him waiting for me.
