Leeloo was a very cheeky little guinea pig, who ate a lot of corn, carrots and sweeties. She used to wake me up in the morning and have breakfast with me, during the day she would always try to be michievous in one way or another, and in the evening cuddle up in my arms to watch tv or keep me company during my studying. She loved eating electrical wires, but bless her she never touched my video games console wires.

She had a house built for her by my Dad and i, and was very well taken care of. Her favourite sweeties were "Drops-yoghurt" and she ate so much a lot of people called her a fat guinea pig. She was indeed a plump furrry ball, her double-triple chin would sometimes touch the floor and she looked so cute!

She taught my Mum to love animals, especially rodents, even though she ate her shoe laces and skirts on numerous occasions whilst we all sat at dinner.

She had a lot of freedom, she could wander around our appartment in the kitchen and living room and had many hiding places. She could hear when someone was about to walk through the door and she would sqeak a lot - she was very aware and knew a lot about me, she sensed my every feeling for nearly 7 years and was my closest companion. She was always there to cheer me up during my teenage years.

She had a few accidents- as a result of her spontaneous explorative personality - but was always very brave and recovered quickly. However, I cannot say she was brave when I brought her to the vet for nail clipping. She was so difficult more than one person had to hold her. Once she managed to escape and ran towards wires to eat them - always up to mischief!

She had a blue plastic "igloo" she used to hide in and store sweets. She often looked like a turtle when her head was poking out. She died peacefully in that igloo. And we found her lying in there on a stack of hay, she was still warm.

I miss her so much - she has left a big void in me. She will always be remembered as a loving, cheeky pet who shared with me a long episode of my life.

I hope she is happy and with other guinea pig friends now and im sure she has lots of anecdotes to tell. She had a happily eventful and luxurious life and is very loved.

Goodbye Leeloo,
Gros bisous XXX

Personal Notes

(Rabindranath Tagore).
