Friday January 28 was one of the worst days of my life. Prancer had been diagnosed with possible Cancer had become very very weak since he was not eating. We had to make the hardest decision ever it was not going to be easy. We had a choice of doing a biopsy which would allow them to actually look and see if it was Cancer and if not possibly they could fix what was wrong with him or to put him down. We did not want him to suffer by any means and since he was not eating he was so weak and eventually he would have starved himself becuase he would not eat. So we decided to go through with the biopsy just so we know we did all we could to save him and in hopes that it was not cancer that it was something that could be fixed. SO we took him to the Vets friday and usually he cries and is a wreak in the car but today was different, he was quiet as could be kind of like he knew. So we took a chest x-ray of him which did not show anything in his lungs which was a good thing. Then we said are tearful goodbyes and headed home to wait for the call. They called us about 2 hours later and siad that he did have Cancer and since he was already under they went ahead and put him down and we had him cremated. I felt like someone had just stolen my heart right out of my chest. He was like a part of the family and it was very hard to accept the fact that he will never be back home. To this day it is still hard becuase you look for him in places that he would normally be and he's not there. He was a great dog and I will always have a special place in my heart for him. As I mentioned before we had him cremated and I had a urn made from petinstone.com I have not recieved me urn in the mail yet but they showed me a picture of what it is going to look like and it is absolutly beautiful. They laser in grave any picture of your choice of your pet and their name, date and any special message you would like onto Marble or Granite. They also do Grave Markers and Memorials. I truly reccomend you check that site out because as I will always miss my dog it helps to see his picture and to kind of put a closure to my brokenheart. If you go to petinstone.com and click on products then urns and then click urn gallery you can see a picture of the urn I made. Prancer was a great dog all around. He was more then a pet he was part of the family and always knew how to make are day alittle brighter. He loved giving kisses, he would smother you with kisses and would lick anything in sight from a blanket to the carpet. His favorite toys were balls! He loved playing with balls! It didnt matter the size, if it was bigger then him he would just run around the ball and bark! His favorite ball though was alil yellow ball that he could fit in his mouth. He would love for you to chase him around with the ball in his mouth esp. around the chair. For some reason or another he also loved the paper towel roll! Once he heard the squeaking of the towel holder he would come running and bark waiting for you to throw it! Last but not least he loved belly rubs! He would come and lay right next to you or on your lap and roll over! If you stopped he would look at you like keep going! He was a awesome dog, one that will never be topped and never, ever forgotten. I love him with all my heart and always will!

Personal Notes

Prancer sounds like he had quite the personality. What a wonderful joy he must have been. I'm sorry for your loss.

I would like to offer you my sincerest sympathy over the loss of Prancer.. I have owned five Yorkshire Terriers in the past and your dog Prancer reminds me very much of one of them a little dog called Prince who died tragically from a punctured intestine caused by stealing a chicken bone.Grief is a very hard price we pay for loving our dogs....but it is worth every moment we share with them.
