Thai Lin was a Himalayan cat with a very distinctive voice, especially when he was calling for me from a different room. He loved waking me up in the morning with a lot of talking, purring, and as a last resort, lying down in front of my face so I couldn't breathe through all his fur. Not really a lap-cat at first, but became very affectionate as the years went by and he mellowed. I remember how he would do a "double-take" whenever I started to play with him. I remember him helping to make my bed, demanding that his food dish always be full before he would deign to dine, and how he hid his face in my arms if something scared him. One year ago he was diagnosed with kidney failure, and although he stayed for as long as he could, it was finally time for him to go. I will miss him very much.
