Mia was a sweet, little lost kitty who came to my door many years ago during a very cold spell in Atlanta. I took her in, for what I thought was the night, but she ended up with me for over 10 years. My other fur baby at the time, Aliester (who has since passed on himself) quickly adopted Mia as his dear sister and soon became an "uncle" to the kittens she quickly had. Mia was a beautiful tortoise shell cat with the most gorgeous green eyes. She was so petite and thoughtful - she had such a sense of intuition. She new when I was troubled and she always came to see what she could do to help. Mia finally got a "daddy" in 1998 when I got married. She loved her daddy very much. We did not know that Mia had kidney disease as her symptoms did not show until weeks before the end. Her health declined quickly and, after much consultation with her Vet, we made the decision to end her misery on Thursday night, October 28, 2004 at approximately 6:45 p.m. On the way to the Vet's office, Mia slipped slowly into unconciousness - she knew she was finally going to be free from the pain and she was ready. I'm grateful that I had that afternoon to sit and hold her, to tell her how much I love her, and that she is always my little girl. I told her to be brave and to not feel bad about leaving us - we understand. The last thing I told her was to go find her brother Aliester and give him a big kiss from mommy and daddy. "Ali" as we called him, would take care of her now. Mia - we miss you so much. You are always in mine and daddy's hearts. Sleep in peace sweet angel. All of our love always, Mommy & Daddy
