My little palsy Gooch entered into eternal rest Friday October 8, 2004 @ 8:30pm. A diffficult decision to make, but my Gooch is in a better place. In Ocotber 1989 I was fortunate enough to adopt her from an abusive and neglected environment. She was about 3-4 years old and had been neglected for a few years, but I hoped to have provided her a better place for the last 17 years. She was loved and pampered by me and close friends. I spoiled her as best as I could hoping she would overcome her younger years. She did overcome her youth and became somewhat of a social pooch. Gooch loved her meals and ate with vigor and of course required napping once she was done. Her favorite place was a blanker she could burrow in until it was time for a walk or just me bugging her. She may have been only about 10 lbs and 8 inches tall, but don't let a big dog in her sight. She was fearless. I didn't think a little Dachshund could leap 2 feet in the air, but Gooch was like a jumping jack. I will miss my Gooch and while my heart is heavy I know she is in a better place. My only wish at this time would be to hold her one last time. I would like to thank the staff of the Maple Shade Animal Hospital, Maple Shade, NJ for their support and care for my little palsy. Gooch is in my heart and I do miss her, but her memory is around me in pictures and spirit.
