Colonel Jackson was and still is my Soul Mate. I believe God gave him to me when he did for a very important reason...to save my life. Jack came along when he was 6 weeks old, from the very second we looked at each I knew he was not just on ordinary dog, he came into my life right after a divorce (14 yrs), and right about the same time my son was growing up and being alot more independent from me then what I was used to. Even tho my son and the family I married into loved him too, he always was My Dog. All of the kids would be going down to the river, (I lived in the country) and it would be ninty degrees out but Jack wouldnt go if I wasn't going, and then when he and I would go to the river, he would spend the first five minutes watching me to make sure that I didn't forget how to swim, humans only having two legs and all. Jack and I had thus far, (besides my son and I) the best relationship that I have had with any person in my life.
Colonel Jackson developed some tumers, only three at first so I took him in to have them bioped. They were foren but the vet said that maybe we caught them in time and maybe they havent spred. Well, before he heald from the surgy of removing the tumers, Jacks body was full of the tumers and I knew that it was time for me use ALL the strength that he had given me, and say "See ya later Buddy". So on Sept 11 2002 I sent my beloved Jackson on his journey to the Rainbow Bridge, where one day somewhere along a familure river bank we will be together again.
On Sept 22 2002 the female dog down the road gave birth to 5 yellow pups and 6 black pups, altho Jack was pure bred Golden, the pups were mixed because momma dog is Lab and Blue Heeler. Of course thr owner of momma dog gave me pick of the liter. I already the pup named, I wanted a yellow pup male so I could name him JB I call him Jeb and it stands for "Jacks Boy". Even tho Jack and Jeb never met, I have alot of pictures of Jeb laying, sitting and just looking at his dads grave. Jeb is two now, and I cherish every moment with him. He has his own personality but in alot of ways and things that he likes and dislikes are alot like Jacks.
In Loving Memory, never to be forgotten, this is my memorial for Colonel Jackson.
With love and respect, Jewel, Jeb and Jack.
