I adopted Benny after the death of his owner who was a veterinarian. This was her favorite cat. As an acquaintance of the family, I fell in love with Benny's character the moment I met him. He was so affectionate so much that he would grab your hand and place it on his own head to pet him. He was extremely intelligent and had a sense of humor but also affectionate. He was my little shadow and vocal to the point and responded to hand signals. He loved to hug me while watching tv which was incredible. He was the sweetest little companion I ever had, and I wish we could have enjoyed more than the two years we had. He needed the affection and I just adored him for that. He succumbed to gastrointestinal cancer. My vet didn't do any x-rays in the month preceding his death and had I known sooner, I would have had him put to sleep before he died at a vet's office. No animal is deserving of pain but he was definitely not...it was a very sad ending. One day his ashes will be placed along with mine in our final resting place forever.
