Nutmeg was found as a stray, tiny half starved kitten of about 6-8 weeks old in 2008. We took her into our home and hearts and she grew into a sweet, beautiful little girl. She was smart, knowing the words "tuna juice" without even opening a can. She fell in love with our tuxedo cat, Pookey and won him over quickly. They became great pals, always sleeping together. Pookey died unexpectedly in 2014.Nutmeg liked to get my attention by reaching up and tapping my arm. She had a soft, sweet meow, not loud at all. She liked her tuna, catnip and assorted treats. In January of 2019, she was diagnosed with large cell lymphoma in her belly and chest. We went with chemo treatments and she did very well for many month and felt very good. But after a more potent chemo treatment, her little body crashed and all blood counts low. They stayed low after that, keeping her weak. But she did pretty well considering, until she finally told us on June 25, that she was just too tired. We took her to our local vet right away and helped her pass peacefully with us there with her the whole time. She was beloved by many people on facebook and by her doctors for her fight to live. She will be forever loved and missed.
