Zelda was born on Christmas Eve, 1991. She came to join our family on St. Patrick's day, March 17, 1992. Soon thereafter, Zelda shared her home with her foster sister, Cinder. Cinder and Zelda were very rambunctious puppies and soon there would be a two-footed addition to the family. Cinder and Zelda officially became "cousins" when Cinder moved to Atlanta to live with her "aunt" and "uncle."

In October,1992 Zelda became a "big sister" when Sammy was born. She used to lay under his crib and would come tell us when he began to cry. Zelda was always very protective of Sammy. She learned to sit right next to his high chair, eagerly anticipating that he would "feed" her.

Zelda was an amazing swimmer, though she had to be taught. The first time Zelda "fell" into the lake, her father had to wade in and carry her out. That was pretty embarrassing for a Golden Retriever. Soon thereafter we taught Zelda to swim and it became her favorite activity after eating people food.

When Zelda turned four she met the love of her life, her boyfriend Marshmallow. Marshmallow and Zelda would swim and play together. Zelda was even invited to Marshmallow's birthday party.

Zelda was sweet and loving and brought us twelve years of joy. She is waiting for us at the Bridge and we hope our sweet girl rests in peace.
