Kira Ann became a part of our family from the moment we brought her home. She was my first cat, and I was nine years old. I named her after a charatcter in the movie "The Dark Crystal" because I thought it was the most beautiful and unique name. As she grew her way deeper into our hearts, the name proved only to augment her natural beauty. I used to dress her up in my doll clothes. Play with her incessantly. Perhaps I hardened her spirit, and played a little too much - as she grew up, she was often a little standoffish with people. But she was loved, very much. She traveled with us to California to set up a new home, and watched while the house heaved with teenagers, drama, and more cats. She was a constant and loving companion for my mom when her only daughter left home. She was the lucky reciptiant of nuturing and affection from my grandma. Over the years, her heart softened too, and she grew gentle, but was always strong and proud. Her face never aged, and her eyes never darkened. We will miss her forever, and be thankful for the time we had.
