Toby came to us in January, 2002. He was feral and had been living on his own for approximately 1 year. In his new home, he had his mommy, daddy, and 2 feline sisters, Lydia and Lilly. Toby spent his first 6 months with us under the bed. This was a combination of two types of fear. One was because he was feral; the other due to the fact that his sister Lydia kept him under there. In time though, and with a whole lot of love, work and patience from his Mommy and Daddy, Toby really started to come into himself. He became a wonderful, loving, funny, handsome and sweet guy. Toby, Lydia and Lilly became fast friends. Lydia was his sleeping and eating partner, while Lilly was his playmate. Toby loved everything - his favorites though were food (could never get enough; especially tuna) catnip, tummy rubs, and clothes. Especially clothes right out of the dryer. Toby was the personification of pure love.
On June 2, 2004, Toby had to go to the doctor because he hadn't been feeling well and not eating much for 3 days. It turns out that Toby had feline lukemia, and it was in the second stage. We had had him tested before he originally came to his home, but the test was negative. The doctor told us that he would not live another 48 hours, so the decision was made to send him home to God peacefully and without pain.
Toby baby, my "fat boy", you were such a love. Mommy, Daddy, Lydia and Lilly love and miss you very much. I'm sorry that Mommy couldn't make you well. We all appreciate and are grateful for the time and the love that we had with you.
Love and kisses from Mommy, Daddy, Lydia, Lilly, Grandpa, Aunt Tracy, Aunt Dorothy, Uncle Jim, Aunt Maggie, Niece Bepe, Aunt Hurricaine, Aunt Cass, and Aunt Tiffany.
Rest in peace sweet boy!
