Writing this e-mail is the saddest thing that I have ever had to do. Our little girl Shea was killed this past Saturday when she was run over by a car. We live off a private road that is a dead-end with no turn around in a private beach community. The car, which had no business being on our road, failed to come to a complete stop when trying to turn around in our driveway while I was outside with Finn, a neighbor and the neighbor's dog. The neighbor dog was standing in front of the car and when I tried to make sure that the neighbor dog did not get hit, the car kept rolling forward despite the presence of two other dogs and Shea ran under the rear tire. I would like to believe that it was painless and immediate for her. She was only 15 weeks old, full of love and life, and a wonderful, loving companion to us and sister to Finn. We all miss her terribly and are extremely upset at the loss of a member of our family. Finn still looks for her in and outside the house. She is being cremated and we plan to have an Irish wake for her to celebrate the short, fun-filled life that she had with us and all the joy that she brought to our family. For you dog owners, give your pooch a big hug today and everyday. You never know when it might be the last time you get a chance. Cintra
