Percy,

Our loyal family friend,

Year after year, you watched over us,

You were there for us until the end.



You were one of two puppies

We kept from the litter

You and Miko, “the biter”,

Whom we gave away later



You were the shy one

Afraid of it all

You hid in the bushes

Even when we called



Then slowly you warmed

A part of the family you became,

Percy, the one and only

Gentle, loving and tame.



We dressed you up and played with you

Even when you ran from the ball,

You hated the camera

And chewed up Barbie dolls!



We also remember 

How you chewed up those new shoes,

Patio furniture cushions, the chicken, 

The rabbits and the cell phone too!



We took you out front

And you followed us on our bikes,

We won’t forget how you chased those horses 

That day on our hike.



You followed the girls

Wherever they went,

You even jumped off a second story for them

Putting your life at stake.





We will always remember how you would follow

Us around the block,

We had to take a different way to school

Just to fake you out!



You used to sit in front of our house,

Like our protector,

You kept strangers and other dogs away

Always keeping us from danger



Faithful to the girls

Kass, Morgan and Shanley,

You jumped fences and walls to be with them,

You loved them immensely!



You patiently accepted all the new pets…

First Salem, then George, now Kobe and Jasmine, the cats, 

Then we added a hyper, yellow Lab pup named Champ

Who loved and annoyed you no matter where you were at! 



Percy….

So many smiles and fond memories we have shared together!

And as your life here on Earth ends,

We will we never forget you, we will love you forever…
