When I first got Nibler he was my first pet when I left home. I was nervous because I never had a pet rat, I thought he may bite, but he sat in my hand, maked me as his possession and licked my thumb. He was mainly black with a brown spot on his back and white makings on his belly.
His first year was spent in a bird cage on a stool next to the head of my bed. He loved to play and cuddle on my shoulder and sleep there too! He never lived up to his name, he would kill you with kisses, just like a dog and was sweet to anyone who picked him up - including children.
When I got my 2nd Pet - a Turkish Angora all white male kitten named Gabriel, he didn't know what it was and he made sure he was higher than he was and put him in place quite a few times. They grew up around each other and got along great! I got many other pets, mice, more rats(female fancy rats, my gurls - Dumbos and Rexes and Standards) but he along with Gabe is my sons. Nibler had a infactuation with a female, blue and brown Dumbo I called Coco, she accdentally got with him when I left the room and a wonderful two surprises were born a few weeks l8ter.Discovered by my cousin Lisa, while petsitting.
He had two wonderful gurls who was almost the spitting image of Nibler and Coco. One had the same markings like her dad, I called her Nibbles, and the other was all black with no markings like Coco so she was named Nibblet.
He enjoyed walks in the park, play times with Lisa's Hooded Rat(RIP)Skye, who just passed away peacefully in Lisa's arms. they played in the Jungle Gym and on swings and even went on the slides. People in the area knew us as the Rat Ladies. I will never forget his boo-boo whe getting a drink in the fountain, he banged into is and got a small nose bleed - which I used the sleeve of my shirt to make it better.
I will never forget him, he is sorely missed and I get by knowing he is onto another happy life!
I LOVE YOU & MISS YOU!!
