My husband & I adopted Dude almost 3 years ago. We got him from a local rescue group near Ann Arbor. The minute I met him I knew he was going to be our dog. Dude was affectionate from the beginning. He was patient with us & our 2 cats. Dude loved riding in the car, going for walks on the beach, chasing squirrels, & peanuts. Dude passed away as a result of a tick bite, a tiny tick bite. I have gone through the feelings of pain & guilt, like I didn't do enough that last night when he fell ill. We were so worried we both slept in the family room with him. Dude was the best & we will always love him. To honor our "Foofers", we have decided to save another dogs life, just like when we saved his. He will be forever in our hearts.
