Rocky, was one of 5 babys born to Muffin and Biscuit. He was a Beagle Basset Doxie Poodle, mix. He was the only strawberry blond in the bunch. He had a unique gift for making people smile. It was as if he was an Angel, before he became one at the Rainbow Bridge. We would take walks and he always had a happy walk and looked as if he had a smile on his face. People would stop and have to pet him, or stop and just look at him from a car, waiting at a red light, and smile at him. He was a gift from God. He touched alot of lives, in one way or another. My friend, from Canada, said that he 'always knew when she was sad, because he would go to her and put his paw on her leg and when she pet him, she would feel better.'
Rocky was diagnosed, 3 years before his death, with an enlarged heart. The vet said, (and she was a sweetheart) that his heart was large because he had so much love to give. He was not supposed to live more than a few months. Instead, he lived three more years....and for this, I am truly grateful. His Angel came for him on Easter Sunday of 2003, one week after his 11th Birthday. I thought I would never again be able to handle another Easter Sunday. Then I realized, that that was not the day of his death, but the day of him being re-born. No more restrictions, or special diets or not being able to run and play....he was whole again. He could live his 'new' life at the Rainbow Bridge and be the 'Rocky' that he once was.
I love you Rocky Man....and miss you so very much.
Mom.
