The sun is not as bright,

The moon has lost it's glow.

Though the time was right,

It's been so hard to let go.



The tears may never stop,

They'll fall from this day on.

No matter how right it was,

It will always feel so wrong. 



Although your pain is gone,

Mine has only just begun.

Living without you,

Is one of the hardest thing I've done.



You brought joy into my life,

And to everyone you met.

Even strangers would take notice

That you were more than just a pet. 



You were my best friend,

And you'll be sorely missed. 

Your look, your touch , your nudge,

And even your wet sloppy kiss.



For all your fourteen years,

Your love and devotion shone.

As bright as the stars in heaven,

Where you now call your home. 



Look after those that passed-

Before your time was up.
