Chien was a Rottweiler/GSD cross, a giant of a dog but with the sweetest nature. We got him from Battersea Dogs Home at Bellmead, Runnymede, when he was one year old. He had been living in a London Pub and had been attacked and bitten by adult Rottweilers who were living there. He bore the scars of this on his muzzle for the rest of his life. We had 9 years and 2 days of wonderful life with him. Only a few days before he had to be given sleep, he was diagnosed with cancer of the gallbladder. We took him home from the vet's hospital for the weekend but had to return him on Sunday 21st March as he was going downhill fast. When the injection had been given, he raised his head and looked at me, his eyes were shining. It must have been a momentary respite from the pain, then he just went limp in my arms. We loved him so much and now we miss him badly. I know he wants us to rescue another dog but no other dog could take his place. We will rescue another dog though, as a tribute to Chien. Sleep well darling, Love Mum Dad & Allen XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
