Today was the day that I always hoped would never come, but always knew would. I said goodbye to my best friend of almost 21 years. My kitty cat Gretchen. 



Words cannot say how much I will miss her. She supported me through some of my greatest triumphs, and some of my worst tragedies. She joined our family at a time of sadness and spent years bringing smiles and laughter to our lives.



She was at my side as I graduated high school, went through college, got my first job, moved numerous times, fell in love, and had children. She was my constant companion and was dependable and loyal to the end.



My heart breaks tonight, but I know she is in a better place. Where her bones no longer ache, and where she can run and jump like she could in her more youthful years. I also know she is not alone. She was met by others that I loved and lost like Cory, Carrie, Jake, Kelly, and Grandma. I know they will take good care of her.



 I love you Gretchen. You were the best kitty anyone could ask for and you will live forever in my heart.
