We had Whisky just 6 months when our Daughter visited bringing with her< bobby her mongrel Dog, Whisky loved it, they played together, walked together slept together, When she went home he looked lost so we decided to get another as company, nothing else but another King Charles Cavalier(Blenheim) bitch, My wife chose Tara as her name, from the very first time they saw each other, they were inseparable, we found out a bit later they were half brother and sister.
They got into all sorts of situations, such fun and obviously inseparable, they snuggled up together at night, if one was eating they would leave it for the other and vice versa.
Tara would sit eyes half closed as Whisky every morning would clean here ears, as if making sure she was respectable.
The day she died was so ver traumatic, we had been to the Vet that afternoon, having them checked, by that time we had also acquired another King Charles this time a Ruby, named Brandy, on returning from the vet, on a very very hot day Tara was breathing hard, making a rasping sound, something that we had asked the vet about many times even that afternoon, they told us it w simply a soft pallet. I noticed at one stage her tongue was lolling as if she could not swallow, I watched her outside lie down in her favourite shaded spot, only to rise and move again as if she could not get comfortable, when I could not see her from one wind the back patio, and saw her lie down, thinking at last she was settled, I turned away, only for something to make me look again just as she keeled over, biting into her tongue in the process, I rushed out but she was gone. My wife and I were devastated, so sudden, When i phoned the Vet they said, probably a heart Attack, I never forgave them for that, and moved Vets.
From that day Whisky seemed to give up, he lost interest despite getting another rescue Cavalier bitch (Lily) he slowly lost the will to carry on, he had lost his soul mate and little sister.
Thet are now Both home and hopefully together again.
