Our beloved Alexus went by a few different names; Budda (because of her little budda belly), Jingle Bells (we had to put bells on her as a puppy because she was so curious about everything, we had a difficult time finding her at times) and Bells (short for Jingle Bells). She knew all of those names and she would answer by them all. She was always spunky and could be quite demanding for attention; which we didn't mind at all. She would inform us that she wanted us to pet her by gently grabbing our fingers with her teeth and grabbing our hands with her paws. She was a strong and determined Yorkie. One day Momma Trina, Alexus and her Birth Momma were all outside and 2 big Rottweilers showed up out of nowhere. Alexus didn't run for cover, she was determined that these Rots were NOT going to hurt her family. She tried barking them down with all of her fierceness. She was sure she was just as strong and protective as they were! She loved the snow, mostly snowballs!! She was our snow "bunny". She loved to play, especially with squeeky toys, but also loved to chase us around the house. She wasn't your typical "lap dog" as she had her own specific way of cuddling. She would lay on Momma Trina's legs only (no one else) but she would rest her head on anyone's foot. She loved to sit next to us on the couch or chair and would roll over to have us rub her "budda". There are so many things I could say about her but there are two things that stick out the most for me right now. She always wiped her feet on the rug after coming back from being outside - she wasn't taught to do this, she did it on her own. She would also wag her tail and scratch her feet on the carpet (as if she was revving up her engine) before rolling around on the carpet; we got a kick out of watching her do this! She also 'seemed' to enjoy it when I made up silly songs with her name in them and sang them to her. It has only been about 24 hours since we lost her to congestive heart failure, and I miss her sooooo much. She will never be forgotten and will ALWAYS be loved. I never thought a pet would touch my heart as mush as Alexus has!
