Mrs Robinson, who first appeared in the lives of the McGovern family in 1990, was a great friend to us. Her intelligence surpassed that of all other previous pets. For instance, she could turn on a light, open a door, and, more remarkably, was able to knock on the door (using the postbox). Her courage through her final illness was a great inspiration to us. Although it must have been painful for her, there were still times when she was a ray of sunshine and times at which she seemed still to be happy in our company. We will never forget her remarkable beauty and elegance and all the wonderful memories she has given us. She loved to sleep on Ruairi's bed--he was her favourite. And to put her paws on his face when he carried her. If she is in heaven, she is waiting for him to arrive. She will never forget him either. Until then, she is in our garden, under a tree beside some daffodils. And the sun shines on her little grave. Goodnight sweet cat. Gentle angels sing you to your rest.
Personal Notes

From Rachel: Mrs Robinson, I hope you forgive me for what I did today. I only wanted to spare you any more pain. I feel terrible. I'll never forget looking at you in the sunshine this morning in the back hall. I wish you could have died then, and been spared the final trip to the vet. You are a great cat, and I'll see you again some time, I'm sure. All my love,

Rachel

From Ruairi: I never thought the day of your fate would come. I always hoped you would recover from the cancer that affected you in your final three months. I'll never forget patting and kissing you before I went to work - not knowing that it was your last morning. I wish I had been with you in your last moments at the vet and your burial. I love you and I look forwards to our reunion in the future. You are and always were a very special cat. I miss you already. Love,
Ruairi.
