Two sweet dogs, one already dead, lying in the middle of the road. The other dog refused to leave his side. We tried to stop traffic by standing in the middle of the road with flashlights, but one car hit the remaining dog and he died in my husband's arms 3 minutes later. The person whose car killed him never bothered to stop.

I am so sick of people who let their dogs run loose. This is what happens. It was horrific and unspeakably sad, yet the people responsible for this will never know the fear and pain these dogs experienced. Only strangers who tried to help and comfort them. And it will be with us for a long time. If you are a person that lets your dogs run loose, you are nothing but an idiot.

Rest in peace, sweet boys...and know that someone cared about you enough to save at least one of you and in the end, some person hit you too and could not have cared less. But we did. Know that you were loved, however short the time, we did love you very much. XOXOXXOXOXOXO

Personal Notes

Bless you for being the angels these precious creatures needed to help them as they passed to the Rainbow Bridge. Thank you for being such loving people to have even risked your own lives to save these furkids who you did not even know. Your story gives me hope for humanity in spite of the others who do not care like you do. May you be richly blessed in whatever way you need for being so compassionate.

God Bless you both for stopping and trying your utmost best to save the wee dog who stayed so faithfully beside his pal. How very, very tragic that he was taken in spite of your efforts. You were so close and yet a mindless driver stole that moment from you.
It breaks my heart that their are such awful people in the world but, it's because of loving, caring souls such as yourselves that I take hope. May the wee doggies be happy in heaven together. xxx
