It started when we were on a plane coming back to Calif. from Florida & my wife met Gale and talked with her the entire time & she had told us about her Siberian Husky that was going to have her pups any day, My wife said she would like to get one since we had been talking about wanting a dog.

She kept in touch with Gale and when the pups were 3 to 4 weeks old, my wife & niece went to see them & noticed 2 of the pups seemed to approach them more then the others. When they got home they told me about them and showed me pictures, they were all real cute pups.
They told me while they were there 1 of the 2 that approached them had really seemed to like them a lot.

They went to visit again when the pups were 4 0r 5 weeks old & the same 1 came right to them again. She called me & told me about her & said she wants this 1, It seemed like a perfect match. Also we thought with her being so friendly she would be good with other people. So when the pups were 7 weeks old they went back to Gales to pick up the new addition to our family & she came right up to them again.

Once they got home that night with her and all her new toys, bed, food etc. from the pet store we all talked about a name for her & with in an hour or so we decided on the name Meeka, since my step son saw the name on the internet, we all thought it was a good name So Meeka was now the name of our youngest family member.

The 2 cats we have, had a little trouble at first and they have been with us for 6 years or so, but all in all they were getting used to each other day by day.

Meeka was a lot work to house train but the love and happiness and fun she gave us made it all worth it. She started out as an indoor dog & as she got older she liked to be outside also. We pretty much let her choose where she wanted to be at any given time. Sometimes she would want out and other times she would stay in all night.

My mom was living with us for a while, her and Meeka were great together, one night my mom was getting ice for her water and she dropped 1 of the ice cubes. Meeka grabbed it with her mouth and played with it all over the house so we discovered ice cubes as one of her favorite toys by accident.
My mom would play and hang out with Meeka during the day while we were at work and Over the next 3 or 4 weeks we spent time playing, training, and my wife would take her on walks. She took Meeka to the dog park where she loved to go.

We were amazed at how fast she learned, i mean she learned all the tricks and things we were teaching her so quick. She loved going for drives in the car. she did everything with us. She would go with us on dirt bike rides, she would ride in Our Teryx side by side off road vehicle that we put carpet in and a safety harness for her so she would be safe, and she seemed to like it a lot.
When we got her she had blue eyes & as she got older her eyes turned light brown. Her fur was changing color so much, but we thought it was kind of cool.

She was getting better with the cats and doing great. She liked to pounce down with her front paws and nose, on her bed, pretty funny. We signed up & took her to a 6 week training course which was an owner / dog course to help us train and learn about her. She did pretty good in the training class and we learned a lot also.

It was so cool to see her in morning or when we got home and see how happy she was to see us, and we loved to see her too.
We had set up a small tire toy on a rope hanging from the tree and she loved that,

My wife taught her to catch her chew toys in mid air.
Meeka was so loving, loyal, trusting, and yet even a pretty good watch dog. She was great with my 2 little nieces and all kids it seemed, We had a lot of fun with Meeka, She liked to sit in kitchen while dinner was being cooked because she could always get a snack from me when my wife wasn't looking.

She would do this Rooing, howling sound, it was like she was trying to talk to us, Kind of like the cartoon dog from scooby doo. She knew how to get a treat from us by just doing any of her tricks or speaking at random,

When we would go to the pet store she always got a new toy or a treat.

She was a very spoiled puppy, but she was so lovable we couldn't help it.

We got her a plastic pool for this summer, but she would never get to use it. Her young life was cut way to short, days before she was 6 months old.

We tried CPR, and Rushed to the Vet ER but we couldn't revive her.

That was the worst day i can remember, We never got to say good by to her.

We will love her and miss her forever.
