My sweet Cleo-Leo: words cannot describe how much your dad and I miss you. I'll never forget the day when we picked you out at the pet store. You were a fluff ball of sweetness, snoozing away in your cage. I told dad that I wanted to adopt you and he said: "just remember, she's going to get bigger and have alot of fur!" I said: "the furrier, the better"

So we adopted you and drove to your new forever home. You sat in my lap and made all kinds of little "chirping" noises. You loved your new home, but made it very clear that you were the new Queen of the house.

There are so many wonderful memories of you: how you had an affinity for water, loved getting baths, exploring and sunbathing in the backyard, snuggling up next to me in bed; flopping on your back so that I could rub your belly.

I am sorry my sweet Cleo that you got so sick. We tried to help you in every possible way, but it wasn't enough. It was clear that you were having more bad days than good days lately, so as our final act of love, we decided to let you go, so that you could be healthy once again and run and play like you used to.

We love you Cleo and will never forget all the joy you have brought to our lives for the past 14 years.

Personal Notes

Dear Cleo:

Today has been a very difficult day. Please know that dad and I tried everything to help you, but when you lost your will to play and was unable to walk without difficulty or do the other things you used to enjoy, and that your diabetes was spiraling out of control despite treatment, we knew it was time to let you go.

You are such a good kitty and thank you for the joy you have brought to our lives for the past 14 years.

We love you Clee.

Love,

Mom & Dad

My sincerest condolences to you both.. Clea looked just like my cat Bella who was euthanized in April, she was 18. It's such a heartbreak because they give us so much love and are more than just a pet. They're like children and letting them go is so very, very hard and painful, too. My old dog was euthanized recently, too. It is time to grieve and to wash our hearts out with tears but, we never stop loving them... ever! I wish you both healing and love from another feline and canine friend. God Bless.

Sylvia:

Thank you so much for your kind words and I am so sorry about the recent loss of your sweet fur babies. Please know that my Cleo and my (Great Dane) Athena are watching over them and playing non-stop.

My sweet Athena passed away almost 4 years ago (I have a memorial for her here as well). I didn't know about this website until I came across it while doing a google search on how to cope with the loss of a pet. It has been helpful knowing that other people here share in my pain, and vice-versa.

Thank you again for your kind words, and again, I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs and love to you.
