Foozy was rescued when she was about 6 months old; she was found in the back of a truck giving birth to a litter of kittens. She was then adopted by Debbie Smith in Texas. A few years later, she moved to San Francisco with Debbie.
Foozy was generally healthy, though she did have a few setbacks; when she was 6 years old, she suddenly started vomiting nonstop, ceased eating and drinking; after 2 days of continuous vomiting she was taken to several vets who ran pointless tests and they said they can not find the source of the illness and that she will probably pass away soon. After all hope had almost gone, one vet checked underneath her tongue and found a piece of string wrapped around her tongue and going all the way to her intestines. Major surgery was conducted immediately and her chances of survival were less than 30%. However, she miraculously made it!
In November 2009, Foozy moved to Cairo, Egypt after Debbie married an Egyptian man. She was happier than ever, she had an evem bigger family that adored her and took excellent care of her.
In Foozy's last few months, she started losing unbelievable amounts of weight. After several tests, it turned out that she had liver problems and daily medication was prescribed.
Foozy purred and was still almost herself till about 4 hours before her death.
Her death brought nothing but sadness to our entire family, especially myself (Debbie's stepdaughter). Foozy was my main companion, there wasn't a morning that she didn't wake me up for college, there wasn't a night that passed by without her sleeping next to me, and whenever I was sick or nervous, she'd always be my main source of comfort. I miss her terribly though I am glad that she didn't suffer much.
R.I.P. Foozy
