Buddy 'Bubba' was a stray kitty who hung out in the apartment complex I lived in when I lived in Chico. I fell in love with him and decided I would adopt him. I took him in and had him fixed and at the time he had a hernia that needed to be addressed. When I moved back to the Bay Area, I brought him with me. He's moved every with me since then. He got me through a lot of hard times and I loved him very much. In February, Bubba's hind paw became infected and very swollen. I took him to the vet and they did not know what it was. Over the course of the month and after different medications, his condition was not getting any better. Finally, the vet suggested amputating his leg. Reluctantly, I agreed. The day of the surgery, Bubba's blood tests showed that he was anemic and due to his age (14) he was not a good candidate for surgery. I was heart broken. The only thing to do now was to have him put down. Bubba is now no longer in pain and no longer suffering. He will be in my heart forever and will always be my 'Bubba Kitty.'
