Penni aka "Stinky" was born in Okinawa, Japan on Aug. 20, 1996. From the day we got him he was the perfect dog! He loved everything about life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He was the most loyal dog anyone could ask for. Penni never thought of running away, even when we would forget him outside. He was the family babysitter, the only babysitter I've ever had. He never thought he was a dog. When he ate, he would scoop his food out of his bowl and feed it to himself. He only went outside to use the bathroom, nothing else..not to play or anything! When I took him on walks he would only walk on the side walk, only used the grass for the bathroom. Well I stand corrected, he did act like a dog..He hated wearing clothes. When I would put on one of his sweaters he would not move until you took it off. Guess, he didn't want to get it dirty=)
In 2005 Penni was diagnosed with an enlarged heart and was put on medication. He was a trooper when it came to taking his meds, guess he knew it was keeping him alive. Mid 2010 his condition worsened and was put on more meds and had to go to the vet for more treatments. He was losing his fur. We would joke about it saying "Penni is a Maltese turned Chinese Crested". In Dec 2010 we felt that his health was declining fast so we decided to take him to the vet to put him down. After asking the vet questions about him, I told him to run a few tests to make sure I was making the right decision. A few minutes later the doctor came in and told me that Penni had mange and that he could help him. I left him there over night and when I picked him up the next day, he was up and running..like a brand new dog! I continued him on meds and treatments for the next 2 months..
On the afternoon of Febuary 9, 2011..Penni decided to be with the Lord and My Mother. He went outside one last time to stare at the house for lengthly amount of time. He then came inside the house and took his last breath..
