Tommy and I found Mocha on the service Road of the expressway on our way home from his brother Bill's 50th birthday party. She couldn't have been more than 3 weeks old because she was unable to lap up milk, so I had to bottle feed her. Mocha lived with us and Tom's boxer Roxy. It was so cute to see a 70 pound dog play with a 1 pound kitten. Mocha was with me through the birth of both my children and was my couch buddy through many sleepless nights nursing the boys. One of her favorite things to do was to jump into the laundry basket of warm clothes from the dryer that had to be folded. She never missed the opportunity to investigate an empty box. Strangely Mocha enjoyed cantaloupe. All I had to do was cut it in half and out of no where came Mocha meowing for an opportunity to lap up the juices. At holiday time Mocha didn't need presents, she loved playing with the paper and ribbons that were being thrown about. Although she did enjoy those little fake mice. We eventually added 5 more cats to the household, but Mocha ruled the roust. When our Yellow Lab Maggie came into the picture Mocha didn't mind or care at first until later on when Maggie relentlessly tried to play with her. Finally we added Gabby our teacup Maltese who was more afraid of Mocha than visa versa. Through several moves, 2 kids and 7 more pets mocha rolled with the punches. Mocha was not the lap cat but she knew when I needed her most and at those times she was by my side. Recently Mocha developed Cancer and put up a strong fight but it eventually got the best of her. She lived a long life of 15 years and willbe greatly missed by us all.
