Kayla came into my life in 1994 at the age of 8 weeks. She was a long hair chia mix. She was to be my 7 year old sons dog but became mine instead. At the age of 10 weeks she crawled into a large dog house that belonged to the meanest dog in the world. There she sat in that dog house with the huge beast licking her face. I told her to get out before she became a Kayla Burger. The name stuck. For the next 15 years she would be known as Kayla Burger. She became my shadow. When my health took a turn for the worst she was there. When we lost everything in Katrina she was there. When I had to put my 17 year old poodle CoCo to sleep she was there. Then in 2007 her health went down hill. Her heart and lung became bad, she went deaf and her teeth became bad. The seizures were the worse. Each time she had one it just took a little more out of her. Till finally she just wanted to be left alone. on August 5TH she could no longer eat. My bright little girls candel was burning out. She had been my candel in the wind for 15 long wonderful years. It was time now for her to move on to a place I can not yet go. But in my heart her candel still burns bright and always will.
