Purdey was the best dog anyone could ever wish for. She was loyal, active and really fit. She was a black Labrador Retriever. She had been many places in her life, including Helvellyn, Cat Bells and many other places in the Lake District. She was one of the few dogs in the world to claim that they have lived in 2 different countries in their life, England and Canada. She used to love running around our field and going on walks with our Papillon, Pixie and Pixie's daughter, Bambi. She has left both of them behind sadly, but they will always remember her as a great big friend and companion. She was well known for her ability to only woof at anything, if it is worth woofing about, unlike the smaller dogs which will make a commotion over the smallest of things. For her age, Purdey looked about 8 years old, when in hindsight she was almost 14 years old, which is a really good age for her breed. It is hard for me, my mum, my dad and my sister to get over her passing, but we have to look at it in a good light, that she wasn't mistreated, she was well looked after and had a great, happy life. She had to be put to sleep on May 19th, 2010. She lived to exactly 13 and a half years old.
We hope you are having a great time in Animal Heaven, Purdey. You will be in our hearts forever!
