Chug was almost a 10 year old savannah monitor, chug had always been a happy monitor, full of energy, always tame never aggressive.

We got Chug when he was almost a year old, from his previous owner. Chug was welcomed into our family with open arms. He was aways a good eater, loved the outdoors , liked to bask in the sun...and always loved my little savannah "Sunny" , he always cuddled with him to keep him warm outside during the night in their summer enclosure outside.

Chug ran into a onset , progressive health problem known as Congestive Heart Failiure. He was also suffering from Pulmonary Edema just some time before he died. We didnt have enough money to take him to the vet , but the ultimate problem was from his diet taht my sisters dad gave him bad foods, like sausage, etc. Which led to a obesity...We were feeding him less and exercising him more but it wasnt enough to stop the CHF and Pulmonary Edema (a congestion in the lungs resulting in a pnemonia like symptoms).

It was hard that day to watch his last few minutes alive, on December 28th 2009 , close to Christmas , the morning of our weekend i woke up and noticed Chug in a "Panic-like state" thrusting around in a panic-look on his face like he was having pain? he did that for about 8 minutes and then looked like he just fell asleep? i pick him up immediately and noticed that he wasnt moving or breathing! I rushed outside into the sunlight to warm him while giving him oxygen and Cpr , pushing gently on his chest.

But it seemed to late , also what came to my mind, to not bring him back anyway because he was in a bad state of health.

We did a funeral for him and buried him outside at his favorite spot in the backyard... where he always loved to bask.

We miss him so much , and it was a shame that he is gone, Sunny misses you the most and needs your guidence. We will always honor the day you passed and we will put flowers on your grave this december on the 28th. God Bless!

Hope your having a good time in Lizard Heaven!
