I said goodbye to a dearest friend today. The weather was appropriate as it rained and the sky was dreary and heavy. Much like my heart! How do I describe this friend other than to say that he was my sun and my moon and my stars? My unique SMS. 



My SMS filled my heart and made me realise what true, “no strings attached” and selfless love is all about.  



He gave comfort with a gentle touch when I was low and always made me feel like the most important person alive. He always welcomed me home with enthusiastic and joyous abandonment and couldn’t wait to feel my touch. It mattered not that I was dressed up to the nines, in my scruffiest gardening clothes or my pyjamas nor whether my make-up was perfect or my face au naturelle.



I lost my dearest friend today. There can never be another Hamish who gave me 12 ½ wonderful years of his beautiful Golden Retriever life. My unique SMS will live in a special place in my heart forever and I miss him everyday! RIP my beautiful boy.
