ANTHONY 1992-2009
a/k/a "Baby Kitty"
Anthony lived a full life and passed away peacefully at the Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society in Kitchener on Thursday, August 20, 2009. Cherished friend and loyal companion of 17 years was put to sleep after a progressive battle with geriatric-related ailments. Anthony is survived by her mother, Rebecca, who sends all her love and misses her dearly.
Anthony first met her adoptive mother, Rebecca, in 1992 as a cherished gift personally selected by her mother and Grandpa Brenner for her 16th Birthday. Although she was a female cat, Anthony was honourably named after the son of a significant high school role model. She has had several nicknames over the years, most notably “Fur Butt”, “Boogie”, “Baby Kitty”, and was lovingly known as “Charlie” by Auntie Wendy.
Anthony’s favourite foods included Happy Cat, tuna packed in water and green peas. Always a very gentle and intuitive indoor cat, Anthony loved to bask in the sun, relax in front of the fireplace, and spent most of her time nestled beside her owner with whom she shared a unique bond. She enjoyed her years teasing the outdoor tomcats at the window, chasing and chewing hair elastics, and retreating to her beloved napping haven.
At a spry 17 years of age, Anthony was still full of love, life, and purrrfect happiness. Her intuitive sixth sense, gentle spirit, the way she patiently waited by the window for her mother to get home, the way she served like clockwork as a friendly furry alarm clock, her clever ways of communicating what she needed, and the way she inquisitively looked up at her mother with her big green eyes will be dearly missed. May her precious spirit and loving memory live on forever.
"What we have enjoyed, we can never lose... all that we love deeply becomes a part of us." - Helen Keller
