When Patrice first laid eyes on Harley, she said, "Oh NO, you got a stupid, ugly Doberman!" Boy, did she live to eat those words! Harley was a beautiful, intelligent, funny girl that brought so much joy into our lives! One of her funniest and most endearing habits was sitting her rear end on the couch to sit by herself, and when we had company over, she would just squeeze in between two of them and make herself comfortable. Or else she would just sit her rear end on your lap! She loved her rides in Daddy's truck, and that is the only place that she would ever be protective. At the house, she would show the burglers to the good stuff, but in that truck, you better not try her! Old lady or young boy, she was not letting anyone get near her ride! And she did love to run away on occasion. During one such four hour attack of wanderlust, the only way Patrice got her back in the house was interesting, she actually baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies, then went accross the street, and laid a path all the way up the driveway and into the house, where she tied a string to the front door and laid in wait hiding in the couch. When Harley came in for the last cookie, Patrice pulled the string to shut the door behind her! But whatever it took, we did it. We loved her more than we could ever express, and even though it has been over a year since her passing, we miss her still. Wait for us, sweet Harley, for we are so looking forward to seeing you again in Heaven. We love you so.
