Lazyboy was an extraordinary dog. He was diagnosed early on in his life with hip problems, but that never got him down. He was always cheerful, friendly, gentle and kind. Lazyboy never met an enemy. He loved to steal socks out of the dryer while his parents folded laundry, running around the house when them in his mouth. His favorite room in the house was the refrigerator. Garbage day in our neighborhood was a day for Z to escape to search out the local garbage cans. He spent a night in "jail" at the local vet clinic. And he almost spent a night doing hard time when the dog-catcher caught him. Luckily Michael was able to rescue him just as he was being locked up in the truck. He eternally lived for his next Scooby Snack, traveling in the car, and staying in nice hotel rooms with king-size beds so he could truly stretch out. Lazyboy was all about his creature comforts, and in turn he rewarded us with the most well-behaved, loving and loyal dog any owner could ever imagine. He made me smile and feel loved every day of his life. Dog Heaven is so lucky to have him.

Personal Notes

Lazyboy,

Russ and I and our girls (Patsy, Dakota, Bettie and Millie) never got to meet you, but I heard a lot of wonderful stories about you from your fantastic mother, Tiffany. Your mother and I spent many along hours on the road comparing very funny stories about our kids. From what I learned about you through you mother I know that you and my Edina would have been wonderful friends. Edina has passed on and is also on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, so make sure you look for her. She will show you the ropes and show you how to keep heartfelt eye on Mom, Dad and Max. I know they all loved you very very much and they also know you are in a much happy place now. Have fun on the other side of Rainbow Bridge and tell our Edina we said Hi!

What a beautiful dog! I wish I had known him. So sorry for your loss.

"the one abosutley unselfish friend that man(or woman) can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treachous, is his dog...When all other friends desert, he remains. George Graham Vest

Lazyboy was a fun-loving dog and he will be missed by all. I wish he and his cousin, Frank, had gotten to know one another.

“I will lend to you for a while,
a Pup,” God said,
for you to love him while he lives
and mourn for him when he's dead.
Maybe for twelve or fourteen years,
or maybe two or three
But will you, 'till I call him back,
take care of him for me.

He'll bring his charms to gladden you
and should his stay be brief,
you'll always have his memories
as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
since all from earth return
But there are lessons taught below
I want this pup to learn.

I've looked the whole world over
in search of teachers true,
and from the folk that crowd's life's land
I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love
nor think the labour vain,
nor hate me when I come to take my Pup back again.

I fancied that I heard them say
"Dear Lord Thy Will be Done,"
For all the joys this Pup will bring,
the risk of grief we'll run.

Blessings to you, peace and comfort at this difficult time. Your Z must have been a GREAT companion and friend. He is romping at the Rainbow Bridge with my Nala, filled with joy and love and the light of the source.
