Joey came into my life in the summer of 1989. Ever since he was a pup he was a smart and loving dog. Joey enjoyed playing fetch with his little soccer ball or his pacefier...sitting in my recliner with me....or snuggling up to be in bed under the covers. Joey was a little dog...only 16 lbs...but he had a HUGE personality. My house...suddenly became his house and stayed that way. He ruled the roost! Joey " took care" of us..and his "brother" Max. He enjoyed giving Max a nightly tongue bath from one end to the other. He even would treat us as his "puppies" and wash our feet and legs with his tongue. Joey, I believe, was almost human. Two years ago...I had 2 heart attacks within 6 weeks of eachother...and suddenly became unable to work. My little boy wouldnt leave my side. He would lay in bed with me.....get up and follow me to the bathroom or to get a drink. He watched over ME! I'm proud to say that when his time suddenly came last night....he came to me to be watched over. I hope that our quietly talking to him and gently stroking him made his passing into the next life as easy for him as he made this life for me.
