When we first found Hamish, he was small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. We had to add an extra step onto the lawn as he was too small to climb up. Hamish was with us for fourteen years, a family pet and a great friend to us all. It is hard to sum Hamish up in words. He was full of personality, great fun and the most friendly, gentle dog you could wish for. He loved people, especially his Mum who has cared for him for his whole life. Hamish's last year was a battle against cancer, but he was very brave and coped with everything without complaint. From diagnosis, he lived a happy life for another twelve months. His Mum did everything she could to keep him comfortable and he was happy right to the end. I had to let him go at 4pm on 8th June 2009 when his illness beat him. Hamish went with dignity, with his family around him at home. He was our life, our constant companion and the centre of our home. His death leaves us devastated but he is now at peace. He was the most wonderful pet and will always be remembered by his family.
