Ranger was a very beautiful dog. She was a shepard, lab mix and had a mind of her own. She loved to range the fields and hills on our property. She loved to swim in our crick. This is why she was called Ranger. She also loved to play with her tennis ball. She would find the longest sticks and carry them home when we would go for walks. She would sit and bark at pieces of firewood as if it was alive. She spent a lot of time with me when I was sick, she would watch Little House on the Prarie with me, and also loved to take naps with me. She was very protective of me. She actually learned how to climb up the loader to get a box of donuts. The only bad thing was she loved to cross the road. She use to get into trouble a lot for this. She was stubborn, and she knew when 5-10 minutes were up and be back home. That is how she died. She was hit by a car Jan. 23, 2003. That was the worst day of my life. I lost my best friend, and not only that I lost my baby. I used to buy her presents for her birthday and for Christmas. It was so cute watching her open them. One thing I can say is she died a happy dog. The garbage men use to play ball with her and any one else that came to our house or garage. She had 9 puppies in 2001. We kept two of them. When we go for our walks every know and then we will find where she hid her toys from them. On her memorial which we have a stone with her picture on, and tons of flowers we have one of her stuffed animals that her pups leave there. Her puppies are as beautiful as she was. Thank god they are not stubborn. They won't play outside with out me. I made a promise to Ranger that I will make them as happy and take care of them as I did her. To this day I believe her spirit is still in the house and with me. I love you Ranger "Mamma" You will be in everyones heart forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
