I brought you from the shelter, I’ll never forget that day,

You travelled home in the back of my car, purring all the way.

We arrived at last, I carried you in, you settled on the floor,

I swore to love and care for you, you wouldn’t be lonely any more. 

 



Your beautiful coat, your eyes so clear, you were such a lovely sight,

You were always a great comfort to me, through each day and night.

We shared our lives together, for 18 wonderful years,

I couldn’t have known I would lose you, and shed so many tears,





You were so ill, and failing fast, there was nothing I could do,

I cradled you as you slipped away, my heart it broke in two,

I will never forget my precious boy; you meant so much to me, 

You knew how much I loved you, be happy now and free.
