On December 15th, the Durham Humane Society in Oshawa, Ontario, burned down killing almost 80% of the animals. The cause? Mice chewing on electrical wires. Many of the workers there said it was like losing a pet of their own 200 times. I say I feel extremely happy for the animals who survived, but for the 80% who died, even though I didn't know them, I felt like I lost some of my dog's friends. The Durham Humane Society needs $250,000 to pay for the damages, so I have been collecting donations for them.
