Fancy was brought into our lives by accident. We'd just lost our dog Buffy and thought it'd be awhile before we'd get another one. Due to extenuating circumstances, we were "forced" to take her. She was quite the handful at first. She wasn't potty trained yet and really had no training whatsoever. That was part of her charm though. She had the cutest little face with lil "bat-dog" ears (as we liked to call them).
Fancy touched everyone she was around. She was brought into our lives to help my sister cope with her illness and with life. Due to that, everyone in the family came to love her and take care of her at some time or another.
One of my best memories of her was when I brought her home to visit one time before we got her permanently. She was sitting in the front seat of my car (which she LOVED to do) and the song "Fancy" by Reba McIntyre came on. It was meant to be after that. I had this feeling then that that puppy was going to be a significant part of my life.
I will never forget her. This has been one of the hardest weeks of my life, but knowing that my sister (who was supposed to be her first and only mother) is now taking care of her and they're both in perfect condition helps get me through the day.

I love you Fancy Pants and will never forget everything you gave to me!!

Whenever I think of Fancy I remember her curling up in my lap as I sat cross legged on the floor. It was the first time I met her and we vibed instantly. What a sweet dog!

Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other we still are. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way you always used. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight. All is well, nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. Condolences from Ireland.

That was no accident that Fancy came to you.... She is still with you, she is your guardian angel. She taught you many lessons while she was with you...especially patience....that was her job while she was here. You learned your lesson well and now she is on to her next job.

I remember Sarah's first time meeting Fancy. She was 4 months old lying on your mom's bed waiting for me to change her diaper. Fancy jumped up and landed right on her belly! I don't know who was more startled, Fancy or Sarah!! LOL I also will never forget the first time I'd seen her raincoat hanging behind the door, I had never seen such a thing and to this day still think it's funny :) Love ya Fancy!!!

Such a cutie, what an innocent face. I'm glad she became a part of your life. Someone once said that we take on all of their pain and suffering so that they can be set free. That's what I'd like to think is happening as we are grieving so deeply. She must have been a special gal to get that special name.
